An 18th Century Aristocratic Boutique Home
A family home in the middle of the Blue City
Where Hospitality is a Tradition Since 1867
Our story
This is a family home first and a guesthouse second. The Jain family who own the haveli still live here, and the rooms guests stay in are the rooms of an old Jodhpur house that has been kept in use rather than turned into a museum.
Opening it to travellers happened gradually. Visitors kept asking whether they could stay somewhere inside the walled city rather than out near the highway, and the answer became yes.
The heritage
The building dates to the 18th century and reads that way: stone floors, arched openings, carved wooden doors and a courtyard that the whole house is arranged around. We have added air conditioning, plumbing and Wi-Fi, and left the character alone.
We do not make claims about the house that we cannot verify. If you ask about a particular carving or door and we do not know its story, we will say so.
Family-run hospitality
Lokesh Jain and the family run the property themselves. That means the person answering your WhatsApp message is usually the person who will meet you at the gate.
It also sets the tone of the place: quiet at night, vegetarian by tradition, and comfortable for families and solo travellers alike.
Life at the haveli
Mornings are early — most guests leave for the fort before the heat. The middle of the day is slow. Late afternoon the rooftop starts filling up, and by sunset it is the best seat in the neighbourhood, with the fort lit up above the blue rooftops.
There is a café for tea and light food, and a travel desk for the practical parts of the trip.
In short
What makes the stay different
A heritage building you can actually sleep in, in a location that saves you an hour of travel a day, run by people who live here.
